YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 21-year-old Englewood woman surrendered to police today in connection with an early New Year’s Day stabbing and beating that allegedly involved four members of the same family. Another woman remained at large.
Troi Dixon (above, left), the only one of five people charged in the incident who isn’t related to the others, was being held at the city lockup before being transferred to the Bergen County Jail. Bail was set at $75,000 on aggravated assault charges.
She surrendered two police at 10 a.m. today amid widespread publicity.
Police were called to the Elks Lodge on Bennett Road just before 2 a.m. after a New Year’s Eve party turned bloody.
They found a bloodied 35-year-old Englewood woman in a pile of broken glass shards, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said.
Her injuries included a broken nose, several bruises and a cut on her neck where she’d been stabbed with a broken champagne glass — which required 70 stitches, he said.

The responding officers “did a great job in rendering her initial first aid and getting her to the hospital without delay,” Torell said.
City detectives took it from there, quickly identifying five suspects.
By 5 p.m. New Year’s Day, Detectives Michael Hargrave and Chris Kedersha had located and arrested their primary suspect, Porsche Brown, 22, who Torell said had stabbed the victim in the neck while the four others beat and stomped on her
Also arrested at the Englewood residence was Brown’s mother, 41-year-old Roneicka Hooks.
Brown is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and Hooks with aggravated assault.
Brown’s father, 42-year-old William “Juggie” Brown, was arrested a week later in Englewood and also charged with aggravated assault.
Still wanted on similar charges are Hooks’ daughter, 20-year-old Dajshae Huggins (above, right).
“Anytime someone is stabbed in the neck, there is a potential for the case to end up as a homicide,” Torell said. “The victim was extremely fortunate, all things considered.”
Porsche Brown remained free on $100,000 bail and Hooks on $75,000 bail (both posted Jan. 8). William Brown was released last Friday on $75,000 bail, records show.
