YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A North Bergen interior designer was drunk when her car hit a bicyclist on River Road in Edgewater last night, leaving him in critical condition, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this morning.

Siobhan Stokley, 40, was charged with DWI assault by auto and released on $15,000 bail pending a Municipal Court appearance this coming Thursday, Molinelli said.

Stokley was behind the wheel of a 2007 Hummer H2 that hit 61-year-old Tony Tyson as he pedaled his bike in the right lane of the roadway north of Churchill Road around 10:50 p.m., the prosecutor said.

Tyson, whose head struck the pavement, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition, Molinelli said this morning.

A blood sample was taken from Stokley to be submitted for testing, he said.

Stokley, a Ridgewood High School and Parsons School of Design graduate who operates her own interior design company, also received summonses for DWI and reckless driving, the prosecutor said.
