ONLY ON CVP: A smoky two-alarm fire in a multi-tenant Ho-Ho-Kus industrial complex brought out fire departments from several northwest Bergen County municipalities this afternoon.
The blaze was contained within the premises at 1 Hollywood Avenue, leased by Alan Baird Industries, a manufacturer of specialty wire & cable for the medical industry.
It apparently originated in a piece of heavy machinery, a fire official at the scene told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters were assisted by colleagues from Ridgewood, Waldwick, and Wyckoff.
Unis from Fair Lawn, Midland Park, and Mahwah remained on standby.
The Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps was called to the scene as a precaution because of high outdoor temperatures. Bergen County Haz Mat was also summoned. PSE&G also was on scene.
