YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A fight in Englewood between two teenage girls today put both in hospitals — one with a cut on her neck from a box cutter — leading to charges against the other and an adult female, police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

One girl was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a cut on her neck that Police Chief Lawrence Suffern characterized as “substantial but not life-threatening.”

The other, 16, was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center with bruises following the 11:30 a.m. incident at Katherine Street and Tryon Avenue.  She was being issued a juvenile complaint.

The adult, who apparently intervened in the fight, wasn’t being identified because she is related to one of the teens. Charges were being filed against her at police headquarters late this afternoon.
