YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Fort Lee firefighters quickly snuffed a third-floor high-rise fire, preventing a potential catastrophe, last night.
Firefighters and police got tenants safely out of the five-story brick building at 2160 Center Avenue after the fire broke out, apparently in a living room, around 10 p.m.
No serious injuries were immediately reported. EMS workers evaluated a couple of residents and some firefighters.
Departments from Leonia, Cliffside Park and Edgewater were among those who assisted.
How much of the building is habitable will be determined by borough officials.
