YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Bergen County Sheriff’s Office sergeant was taken Hackensack University Medical Center after his SUV slammed into a disabled car at the rain-slicked merge of Routes 17/287 in Mahwah tonight.
Injuries sustained by the 20-year veteran when his department Tahoe hit the other vehicle around 9:30 p.m. weren’t serious, a department source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The other car had run out of gas and was in the right lane as the driver apparently tried getting to the shoulder, he said.
No other injuries were reported.
