YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Hackensack man threw what were believed to be drugs from his car during a chase last night, Elmwood Park police said.
James Iarossi, 29, was arrested after he refused to pull over for a motor vehicle offense and was eventually stopped near Essex Street and Prospect Avenue in Hackensack around 6:45 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said this morning.
“During the pursuit officers believe that the suspect was throwing narcotics out of the vehicle along Rt. 80,” the chief said. “Those items were not recovered.”
In addition to criminal charges of eluding and possession of drug paraphernalia, Iarossi received summonses for careless and reckless driving, among other offenses, Foligno said.
He was released wthout bail pending a Municipal Court hearing.
