YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 58-year-old Fort Lee man was carrying a kilo of cocaine in a stereo speaker that had been gutted and lined with lead foil when Port Authority police officers arrested him as he tried to board a flight at JFK Airport to the Dominican Republic, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.
Transportation Security Administration workers at Terminal 4 stopped Jose Rodriguez of John Street after scanning his carry-on bag.
They summoned PAPD officers who discovered the more than two pounds of cocaine, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Rodriguez was charged with first-degree cocaine possession.
