YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Bob Dylan, Wilco, and My Morning Jacket will perform at Hoboken’s Pier A Park on Friday, July 26, as part of Dylan’s AmericanaramA Festival of Music tour, Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced this morning.
“After last year’s Mumford & Sons concert on Pier A, we received countless requests from our community for more similar events,” Zimmer said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring world-renowned talent to Hoboken to provide great entertainment options for our community in our own back yard and to support our local businesses.”
Tickets go on sale Wednesday morning.
Additional details will be announced shortly, Zimmer said earlier today.
Dylan’s AmericanaramA tour is so far scheduled for 26 shows, including at Jones Beach.
Several acts will rotate in on the undercard, including Ryan Bingham and the Richard Thompson Electric Trio.
The local gigs are being organized by Bowery Presents.
(NOTES: My Morning Jacket misses the July 27 Jones Beach show while Jim James performs at the Newport Folk Festival; Thompson & his group aren’t playing either Jones Beach or Pier A.)
