EXCLUSIVE: Tonight’s sudden and violent storm knocked out power throughout the area, downed lines and trees — one of which toppled onto a Westwood house.
A father, mother and daughter escaped unharmed after the tree toppled across the front of their house at Van Buren Avenue and the corner of Tillman Street — three blocks south of Old Hook Road — around 9:20 p.m.
Westwood and Emerson police, fire and heavy rescue teams arrived quickly and set up lights. PSE&G was on its way as of 10 p.m.
