YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A gas station attendant was struck and killed on Route 46 in Elmwood Park last night after he tried to flag down a police officer during an apparent dispute with a customer.
Unconfirmed reports from emergency responders are that a female customer argued with him over the price and the Lukoil attendant tried to make his way across the highway to a police officer parked near the Pizza Town before 11:30 p.m.
He crossed the eastbound lanes and nearly got to the other side when he was struck, they said.
Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli was expected to issue a statement someday today.
