HAVE YOU SEEN HER? Englewood police are seeking the public’s help finding a Teaneck woman who they said slashed a man’s face during an argument over a social media comment.
Tarasjah Virgo, 25, and the victim got into an argument at West Palisade Avenue business on Oct. 30 after she posted a comment on Facebook about a relative of his, authorities said.
“An argument ensued and Virgo pulled out some type of sharp weapon, slashed him across his face and fled the area,” Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The 31-year-old victim refused to coooperate at first, Torell said.
But “after beng released from the hospital, and realizing the extent of his facial injury,” he identified Virgo as his assailant, the captain said.
Virgo “is aware that she is actively being sought” on aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession charges, Torell said.
He urged her to surrender immediately.
“Often, in these type cases, we will seek the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Violent Crime Task Force if the fugitive remains at large for a significant amount of time after the crime is committed,” the captain said. “That’s usually not a desirable position to be in if you’re the target of an arrest warrant.”
He asked that anyone who sees Virgo or knows where to find her to contact Englewood PD detectives: (201) 568-4875. Or dial 911, he said.
Torell also said to consider her armed and dangerous.
“Do not approach her as the weapon in the assault has not been recovered,” he added.
