YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A 52-year-old motorist from Rutherford sustained a serious leg injury Sunday when a pickup truck headed in the opposite direction spun out of control into oncoming traffic and her Mini-Cooper slammed into it, police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.
The 10:45 crash occurred as the grey pickup, driven by a 27-year-old Westwood woman, was headed east on Washington Avenue between Pascack Road and Meisten Street, Washington Township Officer Heather Castronova said.
Members of the Westwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the Mini-Cooper driver to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The pickup driver wasn’t injured, Castronova said, adding that a bald tire on the pickup may have contributed to the crash.
Responding also were paramedics from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, as well as Washington Township police and firefighters.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene by flatbed tow truck.
